Resending: blood, massages, and friendship - oh my!

My Weekly Top Things

It's Wednesday night and my goal was to start sending this out each Monday... that worked well for one week. But ya know, Reader, I'd rather try, mess up, try, mess up, try, do, do, do than try, mess up, fail and stop. So here we are on a Wednesday sharing what I love to share with you!

Top Moments

Coaching Moment

So this weekend I had an atypical coaching moment with my 7yo daughter. We came to an abrupt stop on our first run of the day as we saw a teenager crying sitting down along on the edge. I got closer and saw blood, lots of blood, dripping out of a nasty, deep gash on her calf where her ski sliced it open on a fall. We got her leg elevated, held pressure on the wound, and waited with her until the ski patrol sled pulled her away, all while reassuring her parents she was okay via the phone. After it was all over the 7yo had lots of questions about what was going on and why we were waiting with her. What a great time to discuss how we want to show up in life, what we'd want others to do for us, and how to help whenever needed (plus a little bit of basic first aid!). What a way to start that last day of skiing!

Weekend Moment

We spent a long weekend away for a ski getaway and birthday fun with a few of our dearest friends. Nothing is more joy inducing than belly-laughing, physical fun, and ultimate relaxation with those you love. I think whether it's a big out of town event or a slow weekend coffee with friends, these are the moments that truly fill my relationship cup. I tend to be the planner, the initiator, the organizer...

Mom-Me Moment

We've been trying to do more experience-based gifts lately and my husband knocked it out of the park with full-body massages for me and my two fellow moms over the weekend. We all walked out of our rooms saying the same thing: that was the best massage we'd ever had. As much as I avoid the use of "self-care," I'll lean into it here because it was meaningful and hit on many life areas. So if you're ever visiting the Wisp Resort area, book some time at Massage at the Lake!

Future Moment

Looking ahead in my calendar a bit I have to say I'm looking forward to donating blood this Friday. I only began donating a couple years ago with no good excuse as to why I hadn't before. Being hooked up to the machine for a bit longer to do a "power red" donation definitely falls into the "doing it with discomfort" category for me - but worth it nonetheless. Take this as your prompt to find a drive near you!

So tell me, Reader, what have you tried and messed up this week but you're going to try, try, try again instead of quitting?

If there's anything that keeps showing up blocking your way towards where you'd like to end up, it's the perfect time to book an ACT-Intensive with me. We'll clarify your values and learn the first tools to put into practice right away to help respond differently to those past stories. You'll be amazed at what we can cover in two hours.

Kristin's Corner My Weekly Top Things Top Moments Coaching Moment Habituation was a word that came up this past week. Technically speaking, a decrease in responsiveness when an eliciting stimulus is presented repeatedly over a short period of time. In some life instances this is helpful. Getting used to noises, being less afraid of or annoyed at things. It can also lead to feeling bored of the same old same old. How can you switch things up this week so you don't get bored of the same...

Kristin's Corner My Weekly Top Things I've been thinking about how and why I began offering behavior change services for not only the children and adults that filled up my caseload but the MOMS who I saw truly putting in the work day-in and day-out throughout all the intensive programing. The delivery of these services has adjusted somewhat since first adding this to my repertoire of offerings; and it's ever-evolving still. What I've realized I truly enjoy doing through this avenue is...

Kristin Frigelj Personal Development Coach I took part in a new experience yesterday, Reader. And if you know me, you know that new stuff can bring about some good old fashioned anxious feelings. This most recent event took place at my chiropractic appointment; a usually harmless event where I leave feeling all straightened out (albeit each time I do feel like he may snap my neck and murder me right then and there). This week he added in a new form of "treatment" in the form of traction. Now,...
